Montclair is a tree-lined town with easy access to Manhattan and culturally and ethnically rich neighborhoods where United Way of North Essex has been a community resource for over ninety years. The United Way of North Essex Montclair Community Fund provides support for all of Montclair’s residents and their diverse needs. Your annual contribution to this fund offers you a convenient and efficient way to help your friends and neighbors when and how they need it most.
In 2010/11 Montclair Fund United Way dollars are supporting the following programs:
- The ARC of Essex County - Exercise & Nutrition program
- COPE Center
- Alcohol & Drug Treatment and Prevention program - Project SAFE (Stress Alleviation and Family Empowerment)
- HOMECorp - Financial Literacy and Housing Counseling program
- Interfaith Hospitality Network - Children's program
- Jewish Family Service of MetroWest - Rachel Coalition Court Advocate program
- Mental Health Association - Thursday "Drop-In" program
- M.F.E.E. - Volunteer Initiative
- Montclair Neighborhood Development Corp - Project Oasis
- Neighborhood Child Care Center - Pre school Child Care
- Partners for Women and Justice - mPower Legal Assistance programs
- The Salvation Army - Cornerstone House Shelter

Contributions to this fund are carefully directed to the areas where needs in Education, Income and Health are the greatest and to the agencies and programs that best address and solve those problems. Together, United Way of North Essex and the residents of Montclair make and keep our town a cherished place to live.
